Intu Pleated Blinds
Intu pleated blinds are designed to fit neatly within the frame of uPVC windows and some doors. Instead of being fixed to the wall or window frame, the blind sits directly against the glass, creating a clean and integrated look.
Because the system fits behind the rubber beading of the window, there is normally no drilling required. This makes Intu blinds a popular option for modern windows where customers would prefer not to damage the frames.
The result is a neat pleated blind that moves with the window or door when it opens, while still providing privacy, shade and light control when needed.

How Intu Pleated Blinds Work
The Intu system is designed so the blind sits directly within the window frame, close to the glass.
A slim headrail sits at the top of the blind, with discreet tensioning bars running down the sides of the window. These tension cords keep the blind supported and allow it to stay in position wherever you place it.
At the bottom of the blind, small feet anchor the tension cords so the blind stays neatly in place as it moves up and down.
The brackets used to support the system fit behind the window’s rubber beading, which means the blind can normally be installed without drilling or removing any part of the window.
Accurate Measuring Is Essential
Because Intu blinds sit directly within the window frame, the measurements must be extremely accurate for the system to fit correctly.
The correct tension bar sizes must also be selected to match the window. If the measurements are even slightly out, the blind may not sit properly against the glass.
For this reason we always carry out a full professional survey before ordering the blinds, ensuring everything fits exactly as it should.
Standard Intu Pleated Blinds
The standard Intu pleated blind uses a 24mm pleated fabric and is suitable for many uPVC windows and some aluminium framed windows.
The headrail sits just above the glass area, with tension bars running down each side to support the blind.
There is a wide range of pleated fabrics available, including many colours and fabric styles, allowing the blind to blend in with both modern and traditional interiors.
Intu Micro for Bifold Doors
For bifolding doors, a slightly different version of the system is often used called Intu Micro.
This version uses a much smaller 16mm pleated fabric and a slimmer headrail that fits entirely within the space close to the glass.
This allows the blind to work with bifold doors where space is extremely limited and where a larger headrail could interfere with the folding panels.
Because the system is smaller, the fabric selection is more limited than the standard Intu blinds, although there are still several colours and styles available.
Hardware Colours
The Intu system is available with hardware in several colours designed to blend neatly with most modern window frames.
- White
- Anthracite
- Brown
These colours work well with most uPVC and aluminium window frames commonly found in modern homes.
