Perfect Fit Roller Blinds

Perfect Fit roller blinds combine the clean simplicity of a roller blind with the convenience of a non-invasive fitting system designed specifically for uPVC windows and doors.

While they can be an excellent solution in certain situations, Perfect Fit roller blinds are not suitable for every window or door. For that reason, we always assess the size, proportion and position of the blind before recommending this option.

How Perfect Fit Roller Blinds Work

Perfect Fit is a clip-in system designed for uPVC windows and doors. Discreet brackets are inserted behind the rubber seals of the frame, and a surrounding frame then clips into place to house the blind.

This means there is no drilling or screwing into the door or window frame, making it a neat and reversible installation method.

  • No drilling into uPVC frames
  • Clip-in bracket system
  • Blind housed within a surrounding frame
  • Moves with the door or window when opened

Where Perfect Fit Roller Blinds Work Best

Perfect Fit roller blinds work best on smaller panes of glass that are well within the correct proportional tolerances.

Roller blinds can become unstable when the width is significantly greater than the drop. As a general guide, when a roller blind exceeds approximately two and a half times the width compared to the drop, the fabric can begin to move or swing on the tube. In a Perfect Fit system, there is very little clearance inside the frame, so even slight movement can cause the fabric to rub and fray.

  • Best suited to smaller window panes
  • Ideal for short drops within safe tolerances
  • Suitable for half-glazed doors
  • Clean, contained finish within the frame

Important Considerations

Because the blind sits within a narrow frame, there is only a small amount of tolerance for fabric movement. If the blind is too tall in proportion to its width, natural pendulum movement on the tube can cause the fabric to rub against the frame, leading to fraying and premature wear.

For this reason, we limit Perfect Fit roller blinds to installations where the size is safely within acceptable proportions.

It is also important to consider door position. Perfect Fit roller blinds include a cassette headrail to house the roller. If the door sits inside a recess and opens inward, the cassette may foul against the wall or recess edge, preventing the door from opening fully or causing damage.

  • Not suitable for long, narrow glazing panels
  • Limited tolerance for fabric movement
  • Cassette headrail projects forward
  • May not suit inward-opening recessed doors

Fabric Options

Fabric choice for Perfect Fit roller blinds is more limited than for standard roller blinds. Because the fabric rolls into a compact cassette, the material must be relatively thin to ensure the roll diameter fits correctly inside the housing.

Very thick or heavily textured fabrics can create an oversized roll that will not sit comfortably within the cassette.

  • Selected range of suitable fabrics
  • Thinner fabrics required for correct roll diameter
  • Light filtering and room darkening options available
  • Colours available, but range more limited than standard rollers

Advantages of Perfect Fit Roller Blinds

Where proportions are suitable, Perfect Fit roller blinds offer a neat and contained solution that moves with the window or door.

  • No drilling into uPVC
  • Contained within a frame
  • Moves with the door or window
  • Ideal for smaller glazed panels
  • Tidy and integrated appearance

Alternative Options

In many cases, other Perfect Fit blind styles such as pleated or Venetian blinds may provide a more reliable and durable solution, particularly for taller or narrower panes of glass.

Where doors sit within a recess or where glazing proportions fall outside recommended tolerances, we will always advise on a more suitable alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

No results!
  • What are Perfect Fit roller blinds?

Perfect Fit roller blinds are roller blinds fitted within a clip-in frame designed specifically for uPVC windows and doors. The system fits behind the rubber seals of the frame, meaning no drilling or screwing is required.
  • Are Perfect Fit roller blinds suitable for all windows?

No. They are best suited to smaller panes of glass that are well within safe size proportions. They are not ideal for tall, narrow glazing panels where the drop is significantly longer than the width.
  • Why can’t Perfect Fit roller blinds be used on long, narrow panes?

When a roller blind is much taller than it is wide, the fabric can move slightly on the tube as it rolls. In a Perfect Fit frame there is very little clearance, so even minor movement can cause the fabric to rub against the frame and fray over time.
  • Is there a maximum size for Perfect Fit roller blinds?

While exact sizes depend on the fabric and system used, as a general guide we avoid blinds where the drop exceeds roughly two and a half times the width. The width can be up to a maximum of 1400mm. Professional measuring and advice is always recommended before choosing this option.
  • Can Perfect Fit roller blinds be fitted to inward-opening doors?

It depends. Perfect Fit roller blinds have a cassette headrail that projects slightly from the frame. If the door sits within a recess and opens inward, the cassette may foul against the wall or reveal, preventing the door from opening fully.
  • Do Perfect Fit roller blinds require drilling?

No. The system uses brackets that slide behind the rubber seal of uPVC frames, and the blind frame clips into place.
  • Are fabric options limited?

Yes, compared to standard roller blinds. The fabric must be thin enough to roll neatly inside the cassette housing, so thicker or heavily textured fabrics are not suitable.
  • Are room darkening fabrics available?

Yes, selected room darkening fabrics are available. However, the overall light control will still depend on the size and fitting of the blind.
  • Are Perfect Fit roller blinds better than Perfect Fit pleated blinds?

Not necessarily. In many cases, Perfect Fit pleated blinds are more stable and better suited to taller panes of glass. The best option depends on the size and proportions of the window.
  • Will you advise if a Perfect Fit roller blind is not suitable?

Yes. If the window size or door position is likely to cause problems over time, we will recommend a more suitable alternative to ensure long-term performance and appearance.
