Night & Day Pleated Blinds

Flexible Light & Privacy Control in One System

Night and Day pleated blinds offer the best of both worlds — combining light-diffusing daytime privacy with effective room darkening at night. Designed as a dual-fabric system, they allow you to adapt your window covering throughout the day without compromising on style or practicality.

Ideal for bedrooms, living spaces and modern homes, Night & Day pleated blinds provide excellent flexibility in one neat, made-to-measure solution.

How Do Night & Day Pleated Blinds Work?

Night and Day pleated blinds are typically manufactured as tensioned cellular pleated systems. Two separate fabrics are connected within one integrated framework:

  • A light-diffusing or sheer fabric for daytime use
  • A room-darkening fabric for night-time privacy

During the day, the light-diffusing fabric covers the window, softening glare while maintaining privacy. In the evening, the room-darkening fabric is positioned across the glazing to reduce light levels and create a more restful environment.

This dual-function design means you don’t need two separate blinds — everything is neatly combined into one streamlined system.

Tensioned & Secure Installation

Night and Day pleated blinds are primarily produced as tensioned systems. This means the blind is held securely within side channels or tensioned cords, keeping it neatly in place against the window.

This makes them particularly suitable for:

  • uPVC windows
  • Doors and glazed panels
  • Bi-fold and sliding doors
  • Areas where drilling into the frame is possible

The tensioned system ensures smooth operation and a clean, minimal appearance. Night and Day Pleated Blinds can also be used in Perfect Fit Frames for extra flexibility.

Blind Screen Configuration

An alternative option is a blind screen system, where two separate blinds operate independently within a framed structure.

This allows for even greater flexibility, for example:

  • A room-darkening blind sliding from one direction
  • A light-diffusing or sheer blind sliding from the opposite direction
  • Optional flyscreen integration for ventilation

This system is particularly effective for larger glazed areas and patio doors.

Cellular Structure & Added Benefits

Because Night & Day blinds are made using cellular (honeycomb) pleated fabric, they offer additional advantages beyond light control.

  • Improved thermal insulation
  • Reduction in heat loss during colder months
  • Reduced solar gain in summer
  • Softening of external noise

The internal air pockets within the cellular fabric help trap air, contributing to both temperature regulation and noise reduction.
