Wooden Curtain Poles
A timeless and elegant way to hang decorative curtains, offering warmth, strength and classic style.
Why Choose a Wooden Curtain Pole?
- Solid one-piece construction
- Available painted or stained
- Suitable for a wide range of curtain headings
- Quiet operation with eyelet curtains
- Adds warmth and timeless character to a room
Unlike extendable poles often found in DIY stores, our poles are proper solid poles. If a join is required, it is seamless — not telescopic.
Width & Structural Considerations
When hanging full-length curtains, strength and fixing are extremely important.
- With three brackets, practical width is around 2.8 metres
- Heavier curtains require stronger support
- Fixing surface matters (solid wall vs plasterboard)
- New build properties may require additional care
If going wider than approximately 2.8 metres, we would normally recommend upgrading to a thicker pole — for example, 50mm instead of 28mm — to maintain rigidity.
Larger diameter poles also mean eyelet curtains may not be suitable, as eyelets are not available in very large sizes.

Maintenance & Care
Wooden poles benefit from light maintenance, especially when used with eyelet curtains.
- Regular dusting recommended
- Occasional light waxing keeps surface smooth
- Prevents eyelets from sticking
- Helps curtains glide smoothly
If dust builds up, the surface can feel slightly sticky, which affects how easily the curtains move.
