How the Concealed Tilt Mechanism Works
The concealed tilt system operates using a rack and pinion mechanism hidden inside the side stiles (the outer edges of the shutter panel).
- A small cog sits inside two stepped strips
- As the cog turns, it moves the stepped strips up and down
- This movement adjusts all louvers in that panel together
- Simply adjust one louver and the rest follow
The result is smooth, quick and easy light control without the need for a visible centre tilt rod.
Why Choose Concealed Tilt?
- Clean, uninterrupted louver lines
- More modern aesthetic
- Rapidly become our most popular tilt option
- Slightly easier cleaning without a central rod
- Modern anti-fingerprint paints reduce marking
Without a centre tilt rod, you can wipe straight across the louvers, making routine cleaning simpler.
Hidden Mid-Break (Split Tilt) Option
If your window does not have a natural mid-rail break, concealed tilt allows for a hidden split in the louvers.
- Top and bottom louvers operate independently
- No visible solid bar across the middle of the panel
- Maintain privacy at the bottom
- Allow light in through the top
- Clean, uninterrupted appearance
This is a particularly elegant solution where privacy and light control are both important.
